2016 Streetscape Compatibility Award
Ligman Construction Group is proud to announce the Glen Ellyn Historic Preservation Commission has awarded its recent home renovation project at 444 Turner, Glen Ellyn, IL a coveted 2016 Streetscape Compatibility Award. Annually the Village of Glen Ellyn’s Historic Preservation Commission recognizes projects in Glen Ellyn that have a focus on preserving the Village’s historic character.
Delighted with the award, Ben Livermore, the homeowner, stated “Kristin and I would like to first thank, and the give all the credit to Dave Ligman and Steve Poteracki for having the vision to redesign and repurpose the existing home at 444 Turner Ave. Together, they identified the home, its potential and structural soundness to make this project a reality. We couldn’t be happier with the final product and we were pleased to go through the transformative journey with two wonderful, caring and talented professionals.”
Dave Ligman, head of Ligman Construction Group, commented “Glen Ellyn is known for its unique and impressive homes among other things, so for this reason, I am extremely proud of this award. I knew that this house had the potential to be amazing, but I also recognized the many unique challenges that saving and adding onto this home would present. Quickly identifying and thoughtfully working through these many challenges has made me a better builder, improved the neighborhood of which I also live in, and most importantly, resulted in a great family home that will help provide a lifetime of good memories for Ben and Kristin’s family.”
According to glenellyn.org, the Commission outlines the award as follows:
“The Streetscape Compatibility Award is presented annually by the Glen Ellyn Historic Preservation Commission in recognition of an outstanding effort (completed within the prior calendar year) to construct a new home or building in an architectural style and scale that contributes to the preservation of Glen Ellyn’s historic streetscapes. Entries are judged on their compatibility with the existing streetscape, in terms of architectural style and scale.”
